When I saw this week’s DP photo challenge was geometry, I immediately thought of these photos taken at the Guangzhou Art Museum. I had just begun taking photos and had gone there on an assignment for Tiger Tales, the inflight magazine for Tiger Airlines. I remember feeling mesmerized by the sheer precision of the museum, and the straight lines helped me frame the photos, something I had been having trouble with.
However, as I was going through my photos to find these, I noticed geometry everywhere from the feathers on a Lakota dancer’s headdress to the way trees fell on a hillside.

Yes–I was looking through some photos I took at a powwow and realized that many of the costumes and headdresses had elaborate geometric designs.
