Weekly photo challenge: delicate

A lot of times when these weekly photo challenges come up, the right photo pops into mind almost immediately. This one was a little more difficult. What does delicate mean to me? I thought of all the obvious things. Small children and animals. A Japanese pen and ink drawing. Flowers. Clouds. But none of them were really it. I began going through my photos and found these photos I had to take for my job last summer, and photographing misfortune is truly one of my very least favorite things to do. I do use my longest lens and stay as far back, and out-of-the-way as I can. But these men and women did speak “delicate” to me.
